Dev, Khanak win Hopes Titles and Ansh, Charmi Win Cadet Titles

Ahmedabad 1, October : Second seed Ansh Khamar of Ahmedabad upset the top seed Jenil Patel of Ahmedabad 3-1 to walk away with the cadet boys’ title at the Servo Hypersport F5 Gujarat State and Inter-District Table Tennis Championships 2023 which is organized by Gujarat State Table Tennis Association (GSTTA) from September 27 to October 2 at the SAG Sports Complex, Khokara in Ahmedabad.

Indian Oil is the title sponsor while GMDC is the associate sponsor and the tournament is supported by Sports Authority of Gujarat (SAG). Stiga is the equipment partner of the tournament.

Similar story panned out in the cadet girls’ final where the second seed Charmi Trivedi of Bhavnagar crushed top seed Daniya Godil of Surat 3-0 to win the prestigious title.

In the Hopes boys final encounter, second seed Dev Bhatt of Rajkot beat the in-form Ansh Khamar 3-1 to win the crown. Fourth seed Khanak Shah of Ahmedabad continued her giant-killing run as she downed Surat’s second seed Tanisha Deputy 3-2 in an epic summit clash.

Day five of the tournament saw a couple of major upsets as Ahmedabad’s 10th seed Fiza Pawar defeated Surat’s second seed Arnee Parmar in the U-17 girls quarterfinal.

Young and dynamic paddler Ansh shone one more time as the unseeded Ahmedabad paddler worked hard to earn his victory over second seed Sujal Kukadia of Bhavnagar in the opening round of the sub-junior boys category.
