Gandhidham, May 28 : In the 83rd Cadet and sub-junior National Table Tennis Championship-2021 held at Indore (Madhya Pradesh) from May 26, 2022 to June 1, 2022, Gujarat’s rising talent Pratha Pawar of Gujarat Cadet Girls Singles settled for a third place finish after a heartbreaking loss in the Cadet Girls’ (U-13) on Saturday.
The hassle against Ikshika Umate at 1-4 (8-11, 11-8, 11-7, 5-11, 4-11) in the Semi-Finals round served as her last match to catch up in this championship.
Though she sleep walked in the round of 32 beating Tushti Sood at 3-0 (11-6, 11-4, 12-10) in round 1. Parmi Nagdeve at 3-1 (11-2, 11-8, 6-11, 11-9) in round 2, Sukrati Sharma at 3-0 (11-3, 11-9, 11-3) in Pre-Quarters and rose to quarter finals against Dhaani Jain and defeating her at 3-0 (11-8, 11-6 , 11-4) .
While Krisha Patel of Gujarat Hopes Girls Singles (U-11) went down after beating Akanksha Singhal at 3-0 (11-5,11-3,11-4) in round 2 after the win against E.G. Kaviyazh at 3-0 (11-2,11-7,11-8) in the first round.
Though she couldn’t seal the deal in semis after facing the hassle against Ranjini Saha at 0-3 (6-11, 4-11, 8-11) in the quarter finals which upsets many paddlers as she served as India’s second seed and had earned a bronze in the previous Nationals.
