GANDHIDHAM, February 24: After a gap of three months, Gujarat’s top paddlers will come together for the Pre-National coaching camp with an aim to sharpen their skills ahead of the 83rd Senior National and Inter-State Championships in Shillong.
The camp organised by GSTTA and supported by Sports Authority of Gujarat will be held at the Haresh Sangtani Sports Complex in Gandhidham from February 25th to March 6th under the watchful eyes of coaches Mihir Gandhi and Bhavin Desai.
While Gujarat’s international stars Harmeet Desai, Manav Thakkar, Manush Shah and Krittwika Sinha Roy will be busy with their international commitments, the likes of Ishaan Hingorani, Gujarat’s no.2 who will be fresh from his stint in the US, U-19 no.1 Chitrax Bhatt, women’s no.1 Frenaz Chipia, no.2 Kausha Bhairapure, top-ranked under-19 player Filzah Fatema Kadri will attend the camp.
The probable players camp will also see promising Shlok Bajaj and Dhairya Parmar, ranked 5 in the senior category, no.7 Akshit Savla, women’s no.5 Prathna Parmar, no.6 Aafrein Murad and no.7 Namna Jayswal in action.
“It is a good opportunity for our top players who sharpen their skills, remove the chinks in their armour and gets ready for the important Senior National and Inter-State Championships,” GSTTA president Vipul Mittra said. “We have experienced coaches to guide them and get them back to the competitive level after the resumption owing to the COVID induced break,” Mr Mittra, IAS, said.
