AHMEDABAD, Nov. 28: Baroda’s Kokila Patel avenged her final loss against teammate Dr Mayaben Patel as the former beats latter to win the Women’s 59+ singles title at the Multimet 2nd Gujarat State Masters Table Tennis Tournament 2021 that is being organised by the Table Tennis Association of Ahmedabad under the aegis of Gujarat State Table Tennis Association and Gujarat State Veteran Table Tennis Committee.
At the Ahmedabad Racquet Academy, Kokila twice came from behind to beat Mayaben 9-11, 11-9, 8-11, 11-5, 11-7 for the title. Incidentally, Mayaben had beaten Kokila for the title at the 1st Gujarat State Masters Table Tennis Tournament in Modasa.
The afternoon belonged to the veteran stars from Ahmedabad as they starred with three doubles titles.
Ahmedabad’sAjay Patel joined hands with Kachchh’s Prashant Buch to beat Ahmedabad’s BS Vaghela and KG Purohit 11-13, 11-7, 8-11, 11-6, 11-6 to win Men’s Doubles 64+ title.
Another player from Ahmedabad Dilip Shah won the Men’s Doubles 69+ title as he and Surat’s Nazmi Kinkhabwala def Ahmedabad’s Yogesh Jani and Rohit Khatri 11-4, 11-8, 11-9 for the title.
Prasanna Parekh of Ahmedabad and Rajkot’s Gaurav Doshi defended their Mix Doubles 39+ title with a 9-11, 11-6, 11-9, 11-4 win over Vadodara’s Sheetal Shah and Sikandar Jam.
