As the cricket fever ends, Table Tennis league is here to keep your adrenaline in check.
“The GSTTA has come up with a visionary idea of a new league providing a platform to the TT players of Gujarat to enhance and promote the sport on all levels”, said Shri Vipul Mittra, IAS president of GSTTA with great enthusiasm for Table tennis league.
GSL season 1 will be hosted in Ahmedabad during the end of June.
80 amazing players will participate in GSLTT’s Season 1 Player’s Auction and out of them 48 players will be chosen by 8 teams on 5th June, 2022 at Surat
The highly aerobic sport promises to entertain to the core for 5 whole days and ensures to make you want for more.
The Season One TT League has 8 different teams each representing different cities of Gujarat state.
The teams being, Bhayani Stars (Bhavnagar), Kataria Kings (Ahmedabad), Mutimet Marvels (Ahmedabad), R World Royals (Gandhinagar), Shamal Squad (Surat), Tapti Tigers (Surat), Top Notch Achievers (Anand) and WinAsia Dazzlers (Kutch).
The Franchise can acquire players through the auction and each of their Auction Wallet being Rs 2,75,000/- to be spent on both the players and the coach. Concluding, a total of Rs. 22,00,000/- spent on players and coaches as fees.
The players auction will be streamed live on Stupa’s Youtube channel.
The team composition is a maximum of 7 and a combination of Gujarat and other state players.
Each team will be lead by 2 experienced coaches – one national level coach from other state while the other being a coach from Gujarat.
The Top Indian players who are the part of the fray includes, Gujarat’s very own, Harmeet Desai, Manush Shah and Manav Thakker, along with Sahil Shetty, Soumyajit Ghosh, Padma Shri Mouma Das, Sreeja Akula (Current National Champion) and Reeth Rishya.
The top Indian Coaches include Somnath Ghosh (Telangana), Deepak Malik (Haryana), Anshul Garg (Delhi), Rajath Kamal (Tamilnadu), Murlidhar Rao (Tamilnadu), Anal Kashyap (Assam) and N. Ravichandran (Pondicherry).
It is a 5-day event with a prize money of Rs. 6,00,000 for the top 3 teams and other awards.
The tournament will have in all 32 matches to keep the interests of the audience going and keep them glued to their seats.
