Selection Criteria for Team Selection
- The performance of a player at the State Championship and a minimum of “FOUR” best performances in any of the remaining State Ranking Tournaments will be considered for selection in the State Team.
- If by any chance, the requisite number of tournaments are not completed, the nearest of the above will be followed.
- State Ranking to be considered will be the latest announced by GSTTA.
- National Ranking to be considered will be the latest announced by TTFI.
- Players with the National Ranking of 12 or below in the Senior and 8 or below in the Youth (U-15,17,19) category will be eligible for selection along with the other players based on their state ranking in the State team.
- Points allotted for both National performances & State performances will only be one of the important criteria for selection but not the sole criteria.
- Players with India Rankings beyond 40 in Senior and beyond 25 in U19/ U17/ U15 categories will not be awarded any points for National Performance criteria. Absolute National Ranking will be considered for awarding points.
- The performance of a player in the league matches during coaching camps conducted by GSTTA will also be considered for team selection.
- ‘Ranking’ and ‘Age’ will also be one of the criteria for selection of players for the State Team for any competition on behalf of GSTTA.
- Performance in all other official events of GSTTA/TTFI can be considered for selection.
- Fitness and dope tests, if and when conducted during camps, will be mandatory.
- Indiscipline of a particular player shall also will be taken into non- consideration of a player in the State Team.
- Chief Coach appointed by GSTTA will be a special invitee in all Selection Committee meetings.
- The circumstances under which the selectors exercise their discretionary powers will be documented.
- Decision of the Selection committee will be final & binding on all.

- If 2 or more players receive the same overall points according to the above, then the player with the higher National Rank will be selected. If the Player does not hold a National Rank then the Player with the higher State Rank can be selected.
