74 TT centres in state to celebrate PM Modi’s 74th birthday
Gandhidham, Sept.16: Gujarat State Table Tennis Association (GSTTA) along with Sports Authority of Gujarat, in its endeavour to spread awareness of the sport, has taken a massive initiative of organising table tennis activities in 74 centres across the state on Tuesday to commemorate India’s Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s 74th birthday. The whole program is supported by Pratibha Group, Surat.
Gujarat’s paddlers belonging to top cities like, Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Jamnagar, Gandhidham to second tier cities like Modasa, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Deesa, Navsari, Gandevi among others will take part in this massive campaign wearing specially-designed t-shirts with the slogan ‘United for Nation, United for Table Tennis’ on it.
GSTTA president Shri Pramod Chaudhary said that at Paris Olympics India’s men’s TT team comprised two Gujarat players-Mr. Harmeet Desai and Mr .Manav Thakkar- and we are in the process of celebrating this feat by popularising our game in the whole state.
“We want to celebrate the massive achievement of our state paddlers on September 17 in commemoration of our Prime Minister’s 74th birthday. We are expecting hundreds of paddlers to come out in full force at these 74 locations and to be part of this colossal awareness drive,’ Shri Chaudhary said.
