Seven paddlers enter U-13 main draw

Surat, Jan.24 : As many as seven paddlers worked their way up the qualifying rounds and booked their main draw berths in the U-13 category of the ongoing Second UTT National Ranking Table Tennis Championships 2022 played at the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Indoor Stadium in Surat on Tuesday.

In the under-13 boy’s category, Ahmedabad boys Malav Panchal, Vihaan Tiwari and Surat’s Manav Mehta, Samarth Singh Shekhawat got through their qualifying matches with ease and progressed.

Meanwhile, Ahmedabad paddlers Mouboni Chatterjee, Jiya Trivedi and Bhavnagar’s Charmy Trivedi kept Gujarat’s hopes alive in the under-13 girls’ section.

In the morning session of U-11 category, all three Gujarat paddlers- Hridan Patel Daniya Godil, Khwaish Lotia and Vincy Tanna-failed to move ahead of the pre-quarterfinal round.

Girls U-13: Mouboni Chatterjee (GUJ) bt Mahi Rajput (MP) 3-0 (11-5, 11-4, 11-3); Jiya Trivedi (GUJ) bt Snigdha Das (BEN B) 3-1 (11-8, 11-5, 7-11, 12-10); Charmy Trivedi (GUJ) bt Avni Phogat (HAR) 3-1 (10-12, 11-4, 12-10, 11-9).
