Buhranuddin, Shely, Jahnvi, Himansh win titles in Jamnagar
Jamnagar, July 7 : Buhranuddin Malubhaiwala of Surat and Baroda’s Shely Patel were crowned Sub Junior Boys’ and Girls’ winners at the Second Gujarat State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament 2019 at Summair Sports Club in Jamnagar.
On exciting final day of the five-day event Himansh Dahiya of Ahmedabad and Navsari-based Jahnvi Patel were crowned Cadet champions.
In the Sub Junior Boys final Buhranuddin met Arman Shaikh. Both the youngsters showed lot grit and energy. However, day belonged to the Surti who walked away with the match and winner’s cheque 11-8 11-7 8-11 11-5 11-6.Last Day Winners2
Shely playing her first final of the career took on fancied Rutva Kothari of Bhavnagar in the Sub Junior title round. Taking it as a just another game, Shely raced to 2-0 lead. Rutva made a brief comeback in the third game with 11-2 score. But Shely closed the match with 11-7 11-7 2-11 11-8 11-3 win.
Cadet boys was all-Ahmedabad affair. Himansh Dahiya needed just four games against Jaynil Modi to win the title. Himansh won 11-2 11-7 11-9 11-9.
On the adjoining table Jahnvi Patel dropped just one game to overcome Riya Jayswal of Bhavnagar 11-6 11-7 8-11 11-7 11-3.
