
Radhapriya topples top seed Filzah to clinch women’s title; unseeded Vivaan claims boy U-15 title on comeback
Bhavnagar, June 07 : Seventh seed Radhapriya Goel of Gandhinagar stunned top seed Filzahfatema Kadri of Surat 4-2 to walk away with the women’s title of Mircosign 1st Gujarat State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament 2025 which is organized by Bhavnagar District Table Tennis Association (BDTTA) under the aegis of Gujarat State Table Tennis Association (GSTTA) at SAG Sports Complex, Sidsar Road, Bhavnagar from June 4 to 7.
The Gandhinagar girl was off the blocks in a hurry to take the opening game but Filzah stuck to her natural attacking play to win the second. Radhapriya won the third only to lose the fourth but the 22-year-old paddler held on to her and the match by winning the next two games.
The girls U-19 final saw the second seed Pratha Pawar of Ahmedabad overcome the top seed Riya Jayswal of Bhavnagar with a thrilling 4-2 win in the final.
It was a dream comeback for Surat boy Vivaan Dave who was unseeded in the tournament after his four-year long stint with the PSPB. Vivaan decimated top seed Dhwij Bhalodia 3-0 to lay his hands on the boys U-15 title. Earlier, Vivaan had finished third in the boys U-19 event.
Surat girl and top seed Daniya Godil captured the girls U-15 title after her hard-fought 3-2 win over second seed Charmy Trivedi of Bhavnagar.
Second seed Jiya Trivedi of Ahmedabad had to work hard to win the girls U-17 title after she pipped Daniya, seeded fourth, 3-2 in a thrilling final.
Top seed in boys U-13, Dev Bhatt of Rajkot hardly broke a sweat in his 3-0 victory over second seed Ansh Khamar in their final clash. Girls U-13 final too saw the top seed Vincy Tanna of Surat crushing second seed Khanak Shah of Ahmedabad 3-0.
In the boys U-11 final, top seed Rehansh Singhvi of Kachchh registered an impressive win over second seed and citymate Naksh Patel.
Fourth seed Dieve Patel of Surat posted an easy 3-0 win over sixth seed Nityshreeba Gohil of Bhavnagar to take home the girls U-11 title.
The newly introduced U-9 event was a delight to watch as Bhavnagar’s Raghav Dave beat Samarth Bhabhor of Surat while Yana Singh of Kachchh got past her citymate Divisha Hingorani to win the U-9 boys and girls titles respectively.
The 2nd Gujarat State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament 2025 will be organized in Gandhidham from June 26 to 29.
