Elite performance TT camp to start in Surat from May 18
Gandhidham, May.17: As many as 35 top state paddlers have enrolled for the Tapti Valley 2nd Elite Performance Table Tennis Camp 2025 which will be organised by Gujarat State Table Tennis Association (GSTTA), in association with the Table Tennis Association of Surat District and with the support of Tapti Valley International School, at the Tapti Valley International School in Surat from May 18 to 30.
The high-performance camp will be conducted under the watchful eye of head coach Devesh Karia who is a gold medallist at the Commonwealth Championship and SAF Games. Karia will be assistant coaches Ankur Joshi (NIS), MahavirSingh Kumpavat (NIS), Paritosh Bhatt, Ankita Srivastava and one physical trainer.
India no. 9 Kritwika Sinha Roy, Pratham Madlani, Abhilash Raval, Janmejay Patel, Dhyey Jani are among Gujarat’s leading paddlers who will be seen grinding it out.
Many other promising paddlers from Anand, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Bharuch, Aravalli, Surat, Vadodara have confirmed their participation in this 13-day camp where Stiga is the equipment partner.
GSTTA president shri Pramod Chaudhary said that the venue of the camp, The Tapti Valley School, is fully equipped to successfully conduct this camp. “Best tables for practice, accommodation and meals are all available inside the vast campus. We have arranged for yoga sessions, focused physical training and nutrition guidance by certified professionals to give our players an overall physical and mental development opportunity whilst in the camp,” he added.
Head coach Devesh informed that the first camp was organised in 2019 under his guidance but was interrupted in 2020 due to covid. “I am glad we have restarted this camp. In these 13 days, we will have a very intensive and high level of coaching which will help out players for the upcoming meets,” Karia said.
