Manush-Manav duo wins WTT Feeder title in Beirut
Gandhidham, Mar 26: India’s dynamic doubles pairing of Manush Shah and Manav Thakkar beat compatriots Akash Pal and Mudit Dani 3-1 in the men’s doubles final to win the WTT Feeder Beirut II table tennis tournament which recently concluded at the Al Kawthar Secondary School in Beirut, Lebanon.
The top-seeded Indian pair had to settle for a silver medal in the WTT Feeder Beirut I 2024 which concluded on March 22.
In the final, the Gujarat pairing were off the blocks quickly and took a 2-0 lead against fourth seeds Dani and Pal. A minor mid-match blip saw them give up on the third game but Manush and Manav quickly regrouped and won the fourth game and the match 11-7, 11-5, 9-11, 11-6 to walk away with the gold medal.
Earlier, Manush and Manav had crushed the Kazakh duo of Alan Kurmangaliyev and Aidos Kenzhigulov 3-0 (11-3, 11-5, 11-9) in the semi-final.
