State Junior and Youth paddlers leave for national at Jammu

Bhavnagar Nov,29: Gujarat’s Junior and Youth teams left for the 81st Junior & Youth National & Inter-State Table Tennis Championships scheduled at Jammu next week – December 2-9.

Gujarat players attended Pre-National Camp at Bhavnagar that was organized by Gujarat State Table Tennis Association and supported by Sports Authority of Gujarat.

Last year at Sonepat, Manush Shah led Junior Boys returned with commendable silver. They had lost the final to Delhi 2-3.

At Jammu the junior boys team will be represented by Abhilash Raval, Dhairya Parmar, Chitrax Bhatt (all Ahmedabad) and Harshil Kothari (Bhavnagar).

Unfortunately, this year Manush, down with injury, will not be seen in Gujarat colors. Ahmedabad’s Dhairya Parmar replaced Manish in the youth boys team. Besides, Dhairya, the other team members include Ishaan Hingorani (Kutch), Chitrax Bhatt (Ahmedabad) and Kaushal Bhatt (Bhavnagar).

Meanwhile, Junior Girls team comprises Kausha Bhairapure (Ahmedabad), Filzahfatame Kadri, Aafrien Murad (both Surat) and Namna Jayswal (Bhavnagar). Apart from Aafrien the other three are also part of Youth Girls team. Prarthna Parmar of Bhavnagar is the fourth member of the team.

Vismay Vyas and Bhaumik Oza have been named coaches of Youth and Junior teams respectively.
